πŸ“Έ @dashoffood @onelushlife – So good. Local and organic from the Sooke Country Market today. Little globes of sunshine and goodness. β€οΈπŸ“ I’ve never seen strawberries so naturally glossy and perfect shade of ruby red. So beautiful!

My favorite way to experience a place is through discovering local markets and small eateries, meeting locals along the way

Now we hop on over to China, on a single road that leads in and out of the small village, Qina, a lush valley of rice producers and farmers In Yunnan province. From what I understand, my guess this fella riding with all the tree logs, could likely be taking these to have made into charcoal for cooking use.
We were on our way out of Qina, after a one nights stay with one of the local rice farmers. Unfortunately we had to leave one day early, due to my partner having felt ill from the long travel to get there. It was too bad, but grateful we did have one whole day and a half spent with the family, eating their home cooked meals, and trying to keep up with the corn moonshine toasts going back and forth, using drinking bowls and not glasses 😳☺️ I wonder if that’s why my digestion was ok, all that moonshine would have surely killed off anything πŸ› in my guts. Lol

Havana, Cuba | 2003
Switching things up… Thought it might be nice to share some travel photographs before sharing another batch of wildlife photos. πŸ˜‰

My first trip to Cuba was in 2003, and found a part of my heart had remained there. I fell in love with the music many years beforehand and once there, everything about the landscape, unique culture, history and people resonated within my soul.
Under communist regime with trade sanctions, the Cuban people had to live with what was available from within, cars and to be creatively patched up and reimagined with misfit parts and pieces. I loved seeing how they created under the challenge. I’ve always felt that creativity is at its best when we are faced with limitations and challenges (limited resources and poverty), being resourceful and extremely mindful of functionality, then form. You can see many examples of this type of creativity in the older automobiles of Cuba. Reuse, recycle, and upcycle at its best
