I love having a balcony with some open views to see the beauty of dusk, especially grateful for it in the current times. I love how night slowly draws up the curtains or blanket, and prepares us for rest. I love how the blanketing of night brings a sense of closure to my day, and how being inside a safe space feels cozy, like that feeling from childhood when you’ve crawled under your covers with a flashlight to read a book.. safety and intimacy of space ❤️ Tell me dear one, what do YOU love?

?First time hearing the tree seed cones popping open under the sun, releasing seeds and unfortunately, mildew which I’m very allergic to apparently ??‍♀️ since I stood underneath one to observe, my allergies are in full swing

Some of you may not know that I’m a designer and design strategist for my day job.. I specialize in solving complex challenges within the scopes systems and services for businesses. For the last 3 week I have been busy with a special project that arose urgently due to COVID-19 help to support the un-housed and precariously housed populations in the DTES. ? PLEASE TAG 3 FRIENDS to spread the word (clickable link in bio) and donate to help Vancouver’s most vulnerable populations in the DTES. ? dtesresponse.ca ?

I’m sharing my post from LinkedIn & Facebook:

This has been the most complex, agile, urgent, and purpose-driven project I’ve had the honour to develop, coordinate and execute yet, with ad hoc teams that came together as needed. We created DTES Response in response to DTES SRO Collaborative’s ask for assistance (Mar 18). In two days’ time a fundraising campaign (Mar 23) was launched with an ambitious goal to raise $100,000 along with donations of urgently needed supplies.

As of 10am April 4th: $101,491.00 raised!
This achievement means a lot to the front-line groups and us, for all the frontline workers and the DTES people that we collectively are trying hard to assist and to narrow the gaps of needs for.
This milestone fuels our continued efforts for Phase 2 as we collaborate with the city task force & the network of groups to work around the complexities of safe food distribution.

The first disbursement of monetary and supplies are going to: DTES SRO Collaborative, WAHRS – Western Aboriginal Harm Reduction Society, Friends of Carnegie Community Action Project, Overdose Prevention Society, Aboriginal Front Door, Muslim Care Centre, & PACE Society. This list WILL continue to grow with your support. ? My morning meetings ended early, so I’m making use of the little extra time I ended up with and headed to get my chocolate fix over at @chocolateartsvancouver ❤️ My favorite dark chocolate mocha (only a hint of sweetness) and a few chocolates. Shown here is the peanut butter bar, chocolate and peanut butter with a bit to crunch. Yum!

It’s so important to take time out to cause a pause in your routined life every once in a while, allow the space for stillness and reflection. A time to nourish and treat yourself.
I took a 24hr retreat, used my rewards points up, booked myself and @fenleytucker a stay in the city. What a treat it was! My first time bringing a dog to a nice hotel and the staff and services were delightful. I treated myself to room service as it was easier since I had Fen with me #

@fenleytucker convinced me with his whale eyes to take him out for a mid-afternoon walk today. So I decided it should be a treat… A trip to the beach! It was colder and more blustery than I had anticipated, though refreshing, and when the sunny periods created some sea mist, all worth it ❤️ Btw, parking isn’t free until the end of Feb as many led me to believe. As of Feb 1st it was back to winter prices. Maybe the city cut program short by a month.

Someone was needing to be close this morning. Even though Fen barely fits on my lap when I’m at my desk chair, I’ll sit cross-legged to give him some more stability. He’ll hang out for half hour until he wants to go sleep in his bed. Sweet moments that I cherish everytime

This was our boat that the private tour guide was able to book for me. I loved it. The wife of the captain of this vessel took on the early morning job while her husband rested at home, as he’s busy with the daytime local commuters.
See that bamboo mat on the front deck? Our considerate female captain placed it there for us to sit on, figuring we’d enjoy front row boating, a dry seat and not as cold as the cold hard steel. It was still nippy before the sun came up. As you can see in photo no.2, I was pretty darn happy
