Street photography gone blurred. It pretty much shows how fuzzy my brain felt this morning.
Here is the town’s larger restaurant and a lady on morning errands with 5 pre-toddlers in a large wheel basket of some sort. Kind of entertaining to watch. I wanted to go and see if they were all strapped in or just sitting upright on their own 🙂 but I didn’t.
cod fish paste out of a tube
Trying something new. A cod fish paste out of a tube. Not bad actually, much like a pâté.
Every morning I wake feeling more and more dazed and light headed. Today I’m not even sure the coffee will help ease it. Not enough sleep is adding up. In the west its a lot sunnier, thus brighter, and since sunset is at 11:30+ pm, there’s not much of a semi dusk here anymore. @_@

Yesrday on the 1,5 hrs 2nd stretch of my longer drives, I saw andvcounted only 10 other cars en route, some stretches with no habitants at all. It’s pretty isolated here, in the Northwest fjords.

After meeting a local at the info centre who had similar love for design and architecture, I asked her what she would recommend I must see or do in the port of the north, Akureyi, while avoiding the hoards of cruise ship tourists. I chose this, best ice cream in Iceland, and then checked out the new cafe/bistro up in the botanical gardens. Will post photos of the beautiful building when I get to d/l images off my dslr 🙂 Here: a strawberry and vanilla soft serve dipped in caramel chocolate. I quite liked the ice cream, super light, only a hint of sweetness. The coating was just the right amount of sweetness to balance in.

After whale watching and a museum, made my way back into Myvatn for the rest of the day. The milky sulphur smelling water is a bit thicker yet more gave me more bouyancy it seems. I managed to walk around the pool neck deep without fearing that I would for sure drown (phobia of drowning after childhood incident).

Decided to climb up there for the ride back. It was a bit scary as the boat was rocking, but so worth it.
