Good night New York & Brooklyn 🌃😴 It’s been one chilly day. Temps started off at 12C this morning and have dropped to -2C as of this moment. Then add in windy conditions, now more like a bit of a windstorm with our hotel window and door rattling. Brr!
Today’s tour by moi, Kai, took @cruseruser to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Cloisters, followed by Times Square, St Patrick’s Cathedral, then Rockefeller Center. The winds really was chilling as it’s damp winds off the water. We decided to head back to the hotel around 8:30p and with D train delays, made it back in an hour. At least it was warm inside the subway station. Time for rest for the tender tootsies for another day of exploring and showing D around.

Good Morning New York! Our morning view of Manhattan Island from Brooklyn.❤️ Weather forecasts a mini cold front for the next couple of days. Yesterday was the usual, a couple of degrees warmer than Vancouver, but today it’s colder with -4C and snow this afternoon/evening!

Such a bonny day for a ride on the ferry ❤️ Def helps my distract emotions right now. Just left the Sunshine coast where my little Fenley Tucker will stay in living care with dear friends of mine, while I head home to prep for leaving for NYC tonight, for 5 days. It’s a bit amazing to feel just how much I already love his little being, my heart aches, knowing he’ll be stressed for a day or two as I’m missing from his environment while he’s struggles with separation anxiety still

Would you be surprised as I was to see this blooming on you morning walk this week?
Such a delight to see blossoms blooming in November, and a camellias at that! We’ve been having more traditional temps here in October and November, where we’ve gotten frost, thus surprising to see these blooming away.
My curiosity had me looking diligently at this row of camellias half a block long, and to my delight I found one tag that the landscapers missed removing when potting it, it’s called Winter Star Camellia! Now I want to get one potted on my balcony

Oh how I love the mist and the islands/mountains… Reminds me of Toni Onley paintings, which I learned about while in grade 12 art class

Fenley napping on the ferry ride home.
I have so much love for this little being, just watching him sleep makes my heart ache and swell. ❤️ We completed our first girl-and-her-dog road trip to visit friends and he did really well. I’m so proud of him and feeling that we make a great duo

These two are about the same in brain age, so sweet to watch their relationship develop 💗

Fenley is gentle and patient, likes to give her nose kisses and little N giggles. Then on day 2 after us showing her how to pet Fen gently and encouraging her to do so, she began to feel comfortable and pet him on her own ❤️ It’s so lovely to have two little ones who are dear to me get to experience developing a relationship with one another

“How beautiful it is to find someone who asks for nothing but your company.” 🦊

Week 6 and Fenley now knows to get out of the way while staying close enough to keep an eye on me while I’m in the kitchen working. In due course he’ll relax more and the anxiety with abandonment will go away hopefully… Then I’ll prob find it weird to get used to him not being my shadow anymore. I’ll be proud and a bit wistful, lol. The love of and for a dog
