Memories of Snaefellnes Peninsula near Bùðir. Due to the single lane roads, I have to coordinate a stop when I see a window of opportunity with no cars in either direction for a few kilometres, to be safe and responsible. Always hazards signals on too. Many road trippers don’t, quite dangerous, as the average speeds are 95km-110km/hr.

So the fermented shark was decent, like a very ripe strong soft cheese. The locals on average eat it only on special holidays and festivals that celebrate old tradition. Some of those in smaller fishing villages or just old school may eat it more often, as per their preferences. Of the three waitresses here, none of them like it very much 🙂

Icelandic Moss tea. It’s earthy, aromas that remind me of Vancouver’s forest, mossy, mushrooms, dried leaves, the damp earth. I love it, and also cannot wait to be back in our forests for a hike again.

Breakfast by the sea 🙂 I’m in such a happy place right now… Homemade pancakes, all sorts of smoked and pickled fish, and homemade spelt bread.
